ロープ染色とは、ロープ状に束ねた糸をインディゴ染料の入った染色槽に浸けた後、空中で酸化させます。主にデニム生地を織る時に使う糸を、中白にする為の染色方法です。

その中でもショーワが得意とするのが、細番手のロープ染色です。その糸で織られた生地の特徴は、柔らかさと軽さを備え、シャツ地に向いています。スーパーライトオンスデニム（超薄手のデニム）の開発は、染め、織り、洗い加工における匠の技術と、一貫生産工場であるショーワだからこそ実現しました。

SUPER LIGHT OUNCE DENIM

In chain dyeing, yarns are bundled into a rope and dipped into a dyeing bath filled with indigo dyestuff, then oxidized in the air. This dyeing method is mainly used to make the yarn used for weaving denim fabric mid-white.

In particular, our mill specializes in fine yarn count chain dyeing. The characteristics of the fabric is soft and light, and is suitable for shirts. The development of super light ounce denim (ultra-thin denim) was made possible by our craftmanship in dyeing, weaving, and washing, as well as our integrated production plant.
